Have you ever tried to download a Metin2 server, but all that's offered is a link to another website? If so, then stop searching for that link and start making your own. Metin2 supports instant servers made by players. You can store them on any device or computer worldwide and instantly connect to the server at login time. It's the most convenient way of hosting your servers. However, without an official Raven file, you can't really host anything new for yourself. Raven uses four parts of the client to make instant servers. Each part must be set up properly in order for you to be able to host your server files. The parts are mods, 'portals', 'keyfile' and pcfiles. Raven's forums have a lot of questions about how it all works, so that is why I have written this guide in which this content will be explained. I hope you find it useful! The portals are what tell the game which files are needed for the server when it is loaded. By default, Raven suggests using five portals in your instant server file, but you can add more if you want. They are called "metserver1 - metserver5". These portals are also used in the official files, so if you want to host an instant server with them, they should contain the following five files for each portal: - MCNXT.DAT - MCNXT2.DAT - MCNXT3.DAT - MCQT1.DAT - MCTE1T.DATThe Keyfile can be found in your metin2 folder under \\data\\keyfile (yours might be different if you haven't customized it). It contains your unique username, password, server name and the ports which you will need to connect to when loading your file. You can create the keyfile in the usual way in any text editor; however, you must remember to save it. Raven has an instruction on how to do this. The pcfiles file is also located in your metin2 folder under \\data\\pcfiles (yours might be different if you haven't customized it). The command line syntax for this is 'portals pcfiles'. The pcfiles are the files that are loaded when you press Play. If you open your pcfiles file with Notepad, you will see the following: You can edit the portals here. If you want to add a new portal, set it to "1" and then save the file. To make a new server file from scratch, follow these steps: Now open up the editor again and here's what will be different: Now choose your newly made pcfiles as the "portals" . Then choose which files you want as "metserver1" through "metserver5". Save this as an archive, but name it something easy like your username.extension (for example: raven. cfa1e77820
